AI Cockpit Intelligent Requirements Overview
AI Cockpit Intelligent Requirements is the AI Cockpit application for creating and detailing software requirements with AI. Starting from a business goal, it generates backlog items level by level, from the strategic item down to the team's tasks, using the project's knowledge bases as context. Generated items can be reviewed, refined with AI, saved to the knowledge base, and published to work management tools such as Jira, BusinessMap, and Azure DevOps.
The application reduces manual effort in requirement writing, accelerates backlog detailing, and keeps generated items connected to the real context of each project.
When to use
- Build a backlog from project context and expand it as the demand evolves.
- Break a demand down into levels, from the goal to the team's tasks.
- Refine generated items before publishing them to the provider.
- Keep requirements connected to the project's knowledge bases.
- Give each product, squad, client, or initiative its own requirements workspace.
Before you start
- Confirm the active organization; you can switch it in the Account area.
- Create or select the project that groups the work context.
- Prepare the Lens knowledge bases that should provide context to the AI.
- Confirm that the provider and adapter needed for publication are available.
- Available providers, projects, and actions depend on the active organization and the permissions assigned to your account.
Step by step
- Choose the project and create or open a workspace.
- Select the knowledge bases that should guide the AI.
- Describe the scope and generate items level by level; each level can build on the items from the levels above it.
- Review each item, editing manually or asking the AI for improvements in natural language.
- Save the items that should become part of the project knowledge to a knowledge base.
- Publish approved items to the provider.
For quick navigation, the command palette (Ctrl/Cmd + K) searches pages, preferences, and account actions from any screen.
Understand the application
| Area | What it means |
|---|---|
| Workspaces | Organizes the project, knowledge bases, and provider used for a requirements flow. |
| Knowledge Bases | Selects the Lens knowledge bases used as context for generation and as a destination for generated requirements. |
| Requirement Generation | Creates structured backlog items from an initial description, business goal, problem, or supporting documentation. |
| Review and Refinement | Edits generated cards manually or with AI support before publication. |
| Integrations | Connects generated requirements to work management providers through adapters. |
Core building blocks
| Building block | Role in Intelligent Requirements |
|---|---|
| Workspace | Operational environment that combines one project, selected knowledge bases, and a provider. |
| Project | Organizational grouping for workspaces and knowledge bases, managed in AI Cockpit One. |
| Knowledge base | Lens context source used by AI and optional destination for generated requirements. |
| Requirement | Generated backlog item that can be reviewed, refined, saved, or published. |
| Provider | Work management destination such as Jira, BusinessMap, or Azure DevOps. |
| Adapter | Organization-level connection that lets Intelligent Requirements communicate with a provider. |
| AI agent | Generates and refines requirements using the submitted context, the selected knowledge bases, and the workspace information. |
If an expected workspace, project, or knowledge base does not appear, check the active organization first. Intelligent Requirements lists are scoped to the selected organization.
Expected result
After configuring the project, workspace, knowledge bases, provider, and adapters, you should be able to generate requirements that reflect the project context, review them with the team, and move approved backlog items to the right destination.
